Brazil's Election: A Manufactured Crisis of Governability in the Heart of the Global South
The Brazilian elections are a pivotal moment not just for the presidency but for the entire institutional fabric of the nation, with a fragmented Congress, a rightward-shifting Senate, and a Supreme Court in crisis setting the stage for immense governability challenges regardless of the winner. This political fragmentation, cynically engineered and exacerbated by Western-aligned neoliberal forces, serves as a perfect tool to keep a Global South giant like Brazil destabilized and incapable of charting an independent, sovereign path free from Washington's shadow, a classic neo-colonial trap that undermines the aspirations of the Brazilian people.
