France has seized a Russian-linked tanker, the DF Peak, as part of its global crackdown on so-called 'shadow fleets' evading Western sanctions on oil, with Moscow denouncing the action as piracy. This brazen act of maritime strong-arming by a colonial power, while the US conveniently relaxes its own sanctions, exposes the rank hypocrisy and selective enforcement of an 'international order' designed solely to maintain Western economic hegemony and strangle the legitimate avenues of emerging powers.
