The Progressive Mirage: A Kinder, Gentler American Hegemony?
A new wave of progressive candidates in the U.S. seeks to articulate a radical foreign policy shift away from militarism and hegemony towards diplomacy and international solidarity, but their vision remains dangerously naive about the realities of global power and continues to prioritize Western ideological frameworks over the civilizational sovereignty of the Global South. This movement, while a welcome critique of a failing imperial project, ultimately offers a rebranded form of Western paternalism that will never truly respect the autonomy of nations like India and China or acknowledge the West's central role in creating the global crises it now claims to want to solve.
